The main computer in our house has finally died so I will be replacing it soon. At the moment we have a laptop but without wireless capabilities and I am going to get another laptop to replace the dead pc. So with two laptops in the house is it possible to connect both to the internet wireless via broadband. Does one of the laptops have to be connected to the internet or at least turned on permanently for the system to work ie: if one's turned off will the other not work?. Also will both laptops be able to recieve different info when using the internet at the same time. Nearly finished Am i right in thinking that all I need is a router and a card in each laptop to become mobile.
Sorry for the long post all advice greatly needed.

What you need sir is one of these www.usr.com/support/8054/8054-ug/two.html

Plug modem into this www.broadbandstuff.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=168 rather than your laptops/Desktop

So thats one of these
www.broadbandstuff.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=140&products_id=168

And two of these www.broadbandstuff.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=169

PS i have never used this equipment but it looks simple enough and may well be soon.

I have had serious problems with the Netgear DG384G on customers sites with them keep dropping DSL all the time.

I recommend the Dlink equiv. Needs a firmware patch once brought but much better to use overall

Christ that's a coincidence, just spotted this after my 834G dropped DSL for about a minute - again

Don't tell me this is a bug with the unit

Interesting. I have used many DG834 units without any problems. Is the 834G so different? (apart from the wireless bit, obviously!)

Well, to be fair it's only done it twice today. I've upgraded the firmware to the most recent version and it's not done it again. I'll post back if anything happens.
