Who are the major bike makers?
as in 100,000 + p.a

An I don’t mean those that are >50% owned by other makers, ie- those largley independent, as being not just part of a larger vehicle group, eg- ford etc

my list thus far...

M-BIKES:
Suzuki
Honda
Yamaha
Kawasaki
Triumph
Harley & davidson
BMW

MOPEDS:
PSA
Lambretta
Piaggio

corrections + additions welcome

Shame on you
coz they're really owned by another company...
Ducati was taken over by Texas Pacific Group, an american investment fund, that brought much needed cash and a new group of international managers. Simultaneously the launch of the ST family allowed Ducati to enter the Sport Touring segment of the market.

Petronas only make 50 bikes to comply with the WSB regs so the www.foggypetronasracing.com/ bikes can complete.

Harris WCM bikes only exist in the MotoGP prototype class, which exludes production machines, Moriwaki are AIUI in the same boat.

The biggest bike makers are in China, such as Hyosung.
