The air vents on the dash - not the windscreen demisters or the footwell ones - don't seem to work - anyone cleaned theirs out?

If so, what did you do! So far I've tried a loo brush and a toothbrush - not mine (my flatmates )

Do you mean the ones on the centre of the dash on some cars - in front of the gear lever? If so, they never blow much air so you're not alone. If you mean the ones to the LH and RH side of the dash then they should. Maybe the hose has become disconnected from behind - you should be able to feel this by reaching under and up behind the dash.

Clean them out, why ??

The right-hand air vent is cold air only (unless you have a/c, not usual for a 93 model tho' - could be wrong!!). It is connected via a short convoluted pipe to the right hand wing (about knee height, justbelow the dash), also feeds the vent above your knee.

The left hand vent is controlled from the rotary control on the dash - i.e. v bloody hot or not so v bloody hot sent either to window demisters or centre and passenger vent/the vent above the passengers knee.

You can replace the vent hoses if you think they are blocked - I'd be more afraid to see "what has blocked them...."
