hi guys, just putting the engine back together and I have not noted which way the pipes go.

So does it go, oil pump outlet to oil filter to oil cooler, back to oil pump inlet?>

If you are not sure I'd put the filter after the cooler, otherwise you run the risk of any st trapped in the cooler getting into the engine.

Take it off & have a look then...

Normally you can tell by looking at the casting which stub connects to the centre and which to the outside, but if in any doubt just remove it & check.

ok, so the oil from the pump should flow down the outside of the filter and then return up the centre of the filter?

Other way I think.

If you blow in the center hole of an oil filter you can tell.

It's got a one way valve there, you'll see, you can either suck or blow, can't remember which!

Flows from the outside in over the larger filter area and up through the centre hole, the bypass valve is just there if the filter gets clogged.
