I was invited by Murray Motors to take part in their ride and drive day in Banchory yesterday (lucky it went ahead given the amount of snow we have had!).

In short, it is a stunning car, the engine is utterly enthralling, from its responsiveness through to its noise, its nothing short of epic. The car is so sweetly balanced, even on these incredibly slippy roads, it had bags of grip, feeling very planted across all four. Not a fan of flappy paddle's, but I kind of got into it, far more engaging from a driving perspective than I had ever hoped it would have been - very impressed. Thoroughly impressed with the brakes, sharp and hard bite if and when required, I intentionally hit them hard on a couple of occasions to get a decent feel for them, they really are a awesome in terms of their ability to stop the car quickly, a lot more Porsche like.

It looks epic from the front, side and inside, however the back end.... just don't get it.

Only other negative was a slightly numb steering feel, would have preferred a little more communication coming into my hands, especially with the aforementioned road conditions.

Is it worth the cash? Yes.

Furryboots was it held in Banchory?

Looks like Crathies Castle in the background (fellow Banchory Loon).

Cheers

I drove it as well and it left me underwhelmed - unfortunately. Sport button is a must as the "normal" setting is far too soft. It felt and drove like a large GT, very nice but just not "edgy" in any sense. I also found the gearbox to be slow. It is far more Bentley Continental than Ferrari F12 and I would have liked it to be more of the latter. Looks are ok but again - not ground braking. However, it does look better in the flesh as in pictures - that has to be said.

If you squint a bit, the carbon splitter looks almost body coloured... How long before the offer that as an option? scratchchin

It looks much better that way.

This sums up my drive in the Vanq II as well. If I was to go the larger AM route, I think I would prefer the DB9.2. But the auto-only gearbox on either of these models is a non-starter for me right now. I'm more looking forward to what they do for the next gen Vantage 8 & 12.

From what i have read these Vanquish,s are no better than the DBS it replaces.
No idea if this is true or not.
One things for sure i would sooner have a manual DBS.

I have not read that. Seems to be better in every single measurable way if you compare TT2 cars with each other.

Lighter, stiffer, far more powerful, more economical, full carbon bodywork ya-da-ya-da.

However... I would rather have a manual DBS as well smile

Those faux plastic seats demand a huge discount. They look terrible.
