DHB bib tights/shorts and general stuff....

I wanted some warm winter bib tights (yeah, a bit late I know!) but i know a mate who works for wiggle so i can get DHB stuff CHEAP.

I ordered these

for a mere £40 - he said they're really quite good quality and WAY cheaper than the GORE stuff

then, for slightly warmer weather some of these

and finally some of these for summer (ha.....well, if we get one!!)

from what i gather, they're well priced as they are.....let alone at basically 1/2 price

any thoughts on any of those shorts? when summer comes i'll be ordering some jerseys etc i think, i can get DHB stuff half price so seems daft not to for the price.

what's the quality like compared to more expensive stuff like GORE bikewear, specialized etc?

I've only recently started cycling and was firmly pointed in the direction of DHB as good value kit. The bib tights and windslam tops I have from their range have been excellent through the winter. Just ordered a couple of short sleeve tops from them for everyday rides plus a more expensive Castelli one for "special" events and as a comparison. Not worn either on bike yet but Castelli looks and feels superb but for the price the DHB is superb.

Read the customer reviews on wiggle, very useful.

Yrs DHB stuff works ok.

Don't buy padded bibs though. Just use non padded ones over your various shorts, means you can use same bib tights for a fair few rides without needing to wash them.

OK, dumbass question time. Is it a case of unpadded bibtights over conventional padded bibshorts? Always been afraid to ask others, this!

My tights need a wash anyway, regardless of whether they are buried up my Khyber. They get covered in road spray in the delightful weather we are having.

yeah that's what i understand. I prefer an all-in-one personally.....and besides at the price i've got them for i might order a couple of pairs.....so bloody cheap.

having to wait for the "zero" bib tights as he's got to order them unfortunately but he's got the other 2 pairs which i'll get monday.

it's great...he's a patient of mine and so he gets me cheap cycling stuff, i get him the odd free treatment.....awesome

going to be ordering loads more stuff soon. i can get things like castelli, gore etc stuff cheap (approx 20% cheaper than the usual wiggle prices) but as DHB is a wiggle brand i can get approx 50% off.

My kit is mostly a mix of Gore, dhb and Altura.

The Gore gear is much, much better than the other stuff and imho well worth the extra cash. Worth hunting down sales for Gore. Pro Bike Kit and Bob Shop often have good deals.

I have 3 pairs of the Aeron dhb bib shorts and got them for £28 in a Wiggle sale in December. For turbo work they are absolutely fine but I've found that the grip around the thigh is already coming loose and slack.

ETA I also have the non-Zero Vaeon bib tights which have seen me nicely through the winter and have washed well.

Correct, I go a week or so at a time before washing mine, couldn't give a st what they're covered in, as long as its not touching my genitals its fine by me!

Special treatment at a shop is great, but I doubt they'd be all that in to you telling everyone what you are paying for stuff. I work at a shop that deals with a whole range of discounts for various levels of sponsored athlete as well as professional groups and we don't take too kindly to people talking about discounts.
Not trying to have a go, just saying as it may help you in the future.

I've had some DHB bib tights for a few years - the tend only to be used in very wet/cold rides under my baggies - and the ankle zips bust ages ago. They still 'work' I just have to put up wth the constant helpful interjections from other ridesr pointing out that I've left the zips undone without responding "I fkING KNOW!"

In summary 6/10.
