Photographed this one in Canterbury yesterday, great owner giving us a thumbs up as he drove past!

Nice shot, the V-Dub looks beautifully kept, too. It's also nice that the owner's more than happy to let you take a photo.

Looked good, made a difference from all the Police that was around yesterday for the arch-bishops enthronement, yes it is nice to see the odd thumps up from drivers

Yep, love them, had two US imports, restored both. First one restored at 18, 1964 mouse grey/pearl white microbus (same as that) was fully resprayed. Second one I had until last year, a 1959 Mango green/seagul grey rat looker, mint underneath but left all the original Cali. sunbleached paint on top just blended in the repaired metal work.

They're pretty unique in the car world I think, much more about lifestyle than engineering. They're not (usually) fast, they don't (usually) handle and they're not, IMO, fun to drive. They are all about fun though. My kids love it, their friends love it, even the dog loves it and either sits between the front seats (mine's a walk-through) or curls up in the passenger footwell. On a sunny summers day (keep the faith!), pootling along with the safaris open is a lovely thing to do.

I love them, never did but I saw one in Newquay once and it just looked so right, it was a splitty van, trouble is the ones I like are out of my price range which is bloody typical because I never liked them when they were cheap.

These are now the mumtruck de choix for Islington yummy mummies, complete with Kath Kidson interiors. Several can be seen on the north London prep school runs on most weekdays. Prices have moved north accordingly.

Love the split screens. A friend has a 15 window. Its got no power, next to no brakes but truly epic to drive, just for the novelty value. The amount of attention it gets is staggering.

Probably on their way to Sandown Park, big Volksworld show there this weekend although the weather wasn't exactly kind.

I think I'm one of the few who prefers the later models to the splitscreens. I've had six T3s, three T4s and my girlfriend has a '72 T2 Crossover bay window

I love them to the extent that from time to time I'll pick up a copy of VW Camper & Bus & start scanning the bay (geddit?!) for one, but I can never quite get over the potential money pit fear, especially as I really like the T25 end of things & they rot something chronic.

Speaking from experience I couldn't drive a left hooker without an offside morror and it's got mismatched bumpers but it's nice to have six pop-outs although it's a shame about the side step but I like the original colour combination and the stock height but not sure about the white walls though. Still nice though.

Its just had a repaint aswell... I'll get some pictures sorted when the crap weather clears. Perhaps I should lower it a bit.
