aerial for tamiya wild one

ive pulled this out of my attic to get going again for the kids!
it has the original crappy plastic tube type aerial fitted that id like to change, can you recommend a better type maybe a metal one.
Ive no idea about modding these as its pretty much standard so if anyone has any suggestions that would be great.

They are supposed to be a plastic tube. Anything else would break it it rolls over etc

Fair enough, i thought there may have been a metal sprung type available.
