By some stretch my favourite band. Seen them a few times in various guises, and met them a couple of times, and they've always been friendly gentlemen and an excellent live band.
Saw ginger and friends in Exeter as a little intimate gig and it was brilliant, they just showed how much fun you can have onstage whilst still sounding good and not taking yourselves too seriously. A little bit in love with Victoria Liedtke at the moment as well.
Ginger isn't always consitent with his songwriting but when he's good his songs are some of the best rock songs, and greatest riffs, ever written.
And mastodon posting crap on the forum again, no real surprise there...

Would be interested to know how what I've posted is "crap". As a person, I've never heard a bad word said about Devin, apart from one report in this thread. Everything else I've read from people who have met and worked with him said he was an awesome and laid back guy.And quite how he came to be in, and out of The Wildhearts I'm not sure, but you have only to listen to the likes of Infinity, Terria, Synchestra etc to see that he is an immensely talented and diverse composer and musician. If ever there was an addition to a band that could take their music to the next level in this sphere it would be Devin, but perhaps he was in an out too quickly to ever teach the rest of the band a few of his secrets.
Anyway, next time to you want to accuse someone of talking "crap" please try to back it up with at least some sort of flimsy justification, to do otherwise is just a bit of a dick move tbh.

So coming into a thread clearly started by a big wildhearts fan and designed for other fans to discuss their music (that many love and rate very highly indeed) purely to post that Devin Townsend joining the band for half a tour was the highlight of their 20 year career wasn't a "dick move"?Muppet, go back to posting about your lightspeed fast cupra, or you noisy type-r chav exhaust in every general gassing thread

I do enjoy a bit of The Wildhearts, as it happens, and to have seen them with Dev onstage would have been a bit of an event tbh. Let's not pretend for a second that Devin isn't a huge talent musically, you would be a bit blinkered to suggest that he could have had a massive impact on their music, his creativity is seemingly limitless and I'm sure him and Ginger teaming up to write could have spawned some brilliant songs. Perhaps it did surface to a degree on Endless Nameless, which featured a few musical idiosyncrasies that Townsend was fond of.
I don't care if you think they had other career highlights, because my post was about my opinion (that is why I posted it) and to me, seeing a band I like briefly joined by a musician of Devin's stature is great. In much the same way that I think one of Slayer's career highlights was having Pat O'Brien in their live band, I'm sure many would disagree, but for me seeing musicians collaborate, or even just cross genres and bands to play live together is a pretty special thing.
If you disagree, that's fair enough, but trying to make it personal just because you don't share my opinion seems a little off-colour. I suppose the great irony is that we both appear to be Wildhearts fans yet you just seem intent on attacking me.

If anything you sound like a "butthurt fangirl" of Devins hence the pointless lengthy posts on him in a topic about a totally different artist.
Your first post in this thread was clearly a dig at the wildhearts and not a positive post from a fan, your backtracking since isn't convincing in the lsightest.

Apologies for the personal insult but your constant posts about how amazingly quick your cupra is (or was as the case is now) have always grated on me, much like 300bhp posting about old fox bodies and mustangs in every thread, so it was cathartic to get it off my chest finally.
