One can only speculate on the reasons for the OPs question. But yes, they were lucky with that gearbox! I wonder if Edd would have stripped the bugger down and rebuilt it otherwise?!
Still one of my fave TV progs though.
My reason for asking was purely that I couldn't remember after discussing it with a friend . Nothing more than that!!!!Still one of my fave TV progs though.
Also I know someone that bought a Fiat Barchetta some years back from them and he definately didn't work for them though maybe some are staged

Eh, not quite. I'm sure Brewer came out and said the buyers were not real.
Have you ever seen someone buy a car like they do on the show?
There is a wheeler dealers thread in the tv section but I am more sure than you that Brewer didn't say that. Also the deals are done off camera and without Mike Brewers involvement then they film the little piece for the show. Have you ever seen someone buy a car like they do on the show?
I believe they do try and sell the car, but if it isn't sold in a reasonably sensible amount of time, then they stooge it. Let's face it - they are hardly going to put an episode on ice for six months because they cant end it are they? And if they said "well, we couldn't sell it in the end" it wouldn't really be 'Wheeler Dealers' would it? It would be more, well, "Mike and Edds random car show"...
