Been playing about on the bay and found

Is it just me or is this quite a good price? If they are getting fitted for about £5k, then this would seem a realistic alternative to a speed 6 upgrade.

The engine is a re manufactured LQ9 so:
6.0l iron block
lower compression than ls1 (depending on heads)
slightly better heads than ls1 (not as good as ls6/2)
no mention of cam
no mention if bored out (normally in the states they go 30 thou overbore with iron blocks)
no mention of what rotating assembly used (reused pistons/rods -rod bolts&bearings?)
other notes:
"243" = GM cylinder head casting number, just means LS6/LS2 heads (its the valves in those heads..)
L33 ally block would be a good alternative but I expect will be more £££

That's what I got The 5.3 will bore out to Ls1 5.7 easy, and can go as far as 6.3 with stroker
Comes with better rods than a Ls1,
Mine came with 799 heads (ls6)
It's not the engine that will cost you, box, propshaft, exhaust,Ecu, shifter etc etc
LS3 is probably the best value, and potential to evolve into any sort of power output you want.
I bought my Block which was already bored and line bored from a website called Racing Junk for $900.
A set of Brand new Mahle pistons was $600.
you have to keep your eye in, but sometimes some bargains appear..
