Centre Consol ideas and questions ....

I have a 2007 DB9.

My car ski slope is Piano Black and I looked at covering the centre consol (radio down to trinket holder) in car wrap black vinyl so that it was all piano black which would have been nicer ( I would have curved it above the heater knobs).

I bought some 3m stuff for the princely sum of £12 and did a few sample bits but the finish was a bit orange peel.

Has anyone tried changing the grey for anything else?

Also, and this is a ling shot ... the newer DB9 has a revised centre consol. There was one for a V8V on ebay the other day (Tony on here) that sold for £250. Does anyone know if the newer ones are size / electrically compatible?

Also .... the newer arm rests - (AM bits have one for £750 - in black sadly and mine is sandstrorm ) will they fit older models?

All thoughts that went through my mind before. I looked at the console you mentioned as the eBay item stated compatability etc. I spoke to Gaydon who say an emphatic NO. I forwarded the email to the seller I received from Aston.
If you want to donate one, I could get my electronics workshop look into a rewire to make it work. Probably a weeks labour!

£750 for an armrest...... Cough....

Has anyone tried to paint one yet. I think if it was properly prepped and pained it would look perfect. The 2013 model year Vantages are now piano black all the way down to the arm rest, I'm considering doing something with mine.

It is very possible, the only spoiler is the night illumination for the heater controls.
If you do embark on this, before you apply paint, scratch off some of the original grey coating next to the heater night illumination. I'd like to know if it can be laser cut back in after painting.
