After filling my washer bottle with condensation gathered from the bathroom windows with a virgin sponge this morning I got thinking about how I drive....
I must confess that I haven't seen my shift lights in over six months (cue drive time music). I used to see it all the time in previous cars but the Aston is carrying so much speed at high revs there seems rarely the opportunity in any gear other than second. Perhaps it's because I treat it so much like a GT car. Maybe I'm getting old. Just thinking out loud really
Edited to add I have shift lights option?

Nice Geoff option; I take it you're a SELOCer as well then?
I don't tend to rely on mine so it's quite a surprise when I do see them. But I agree, it hasn't been for months...
At 7krpm, with the car making over 500bhp, it does begin to break away at the rear I find unless conditions are ideal

Although my vote is once a month, that is due to the continuing dreadful weather, with my P & J staying too long in the garage.
I am still working through a long list of neighbours, who have asked for a ride. It is compulsory to demonstrate the acceleration and braking. After carefully warming the engine and reconoitering a safe road, the shift light is illuminated. in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It is then the moment for heavy braking, which surprises most passengers, and is the technique to avoid the dreaded AM brake squeal. In all it only takes about 20 seconds. The remainder of our drive is smooth, cautious and very legal.
