928 GTS for sale with 44k miles - why not sold?

No connection whatsoever with this car but is it broken?

928 values do appear to have softened again recently. I still miss mine after over 20 years, so i do keep looking. I just wonder if they have stood the test of time as well as my rose tinted spectacles tell me they have! I would hate to buy another, be disappointed and have my happy memories ruined! 
I can't tell from the ad how long this has been on market.
But even speaking as a huge 928 fan, I'm not surprised it hasn't sold immediately for several reasons:
- price is at top end for an auto GTS, in a market with very limited number of buyers
- not a very enticing advert is it? Virtually no detail beyond the standard spec list, and limited number of photos
- private sale, and buyers nervous of 928s may seek reassurance of dealer warranty (though knowledgeable buyers realise best cars are in hands of enthusiasts who know how to maintain them)
- relentless fuel price rises are dampening interest in these cars
- will probably sell near this price if it checks out, but could take a long time

My thoughts also, definitely worth checking out but also agree with the above.4 Star Classics would have this up at £20k albeit waxed and with some great pics.

On the one hand I certainly accept your premise, but on the other I think that the 964 renaissance is going to continue to hit the market for any other pork in the £14-20k range. A 928 at this price is for a very narrow enthusiast market IMHO - might sell in a week, might sit on the market half a year...Crap advert, crap pictures...

Have been tracking all 5-spd GTS cars that have come on the market since Oct 2012 - every single one has sold within 2 weeks of being advertised. One particular car sold in 1hr since appearing on Autotrader and one in 3 days of being on eBay. All 5-spd cars had more miles than this particular one, but sold for similar money. Goes to show that people want rarity - only 42 manual GTSs were sold in the UK between 1992 and 1994...
As to them standing the test of time - my love affair started 10yrs ago... I drive an E61 M5 most days, guess which keys will stay with me forever - definitely not the ones with Blue-White Roundel on them...

Keep a note of where they go, I really need someone to buy one and keep it locked away for a few years until I'm ready to buy another one. Oh, and the wrong gearbox...

There are are few small blemishes on the paintwork, nothing major though.

Doesn't want to idle when cold? It's absolutely fine after the first minute. It's also due a cam belt and water pump change.
This should all be able to be done for around £1000, I might try and get it done before the sale.
It was my intention to keep this car and make it perfect, however.... I've been offered an extremely low milage GTS manual and can't turn it down!
