Pondering the layout of the lounge in our new place and I'm considering having the AV amp and Humax PVR in a cupboard under the stairs which will leave the lounge nice and clutter free. Partly for aesthetics and partly because we have a toddler who is obsessed with pressing buttons!

I'm just wondering how practical this is in reality. The amp is currently in full view so I can see when it's switched on, when it's gone to sleep, what mode its in etc. I understand I could get some sort of universal remote that will take care of most of this stuff (at a high price) but I'm just concerned that I may regret not being able to see the display etc... The alternative is a glass fronted cabinet or something but that doesn't hold massive appeal.

Where are all the interconnecting wires going to go?

Do the Humax and Amp have an ethernet port? Put it on your network and control via WiFi is the most elegant solution I would think.

Under the floor mainly.

Hmmm, need to check. This would be a great option if they do.
