Evenin' all.

I've just got home from a day's travelling to leave a deposit on a Griff!!! I've wanted one for years, they've always been out of reach but I was luckily in the right place at the right time. I was going to have to 'settle' for a Chimaera and - fortunately, as it turned out - I missed one last weekend.

I'm no stranger to the scene - although this is my first Tiv, I had a Westfield a few years ago. I'm looking forward to getting involved and may make the trip up to Stratford for the Growl.

So, please bear with me as I'm finding my feet a bit here, but it seems like there's some good camaraderie. I look forward to some mutual nose-tweaking! Remember, if something I say can be taken two ways, and one of them p*sses anyone off - I meant the other one!

Most settle for a Chimp, the lucky ones see the light. Look forward to seeing you and the car at Growl. thumbup

Hi Greg, welcome to the best forum, and well done in purchasing a pre-cat Griff. I am a 4.3 pre-cat owner and like you wanted one for years and finally realised whilst restoring a classic Triumph that I wanted a TVR, so I sold the project and went looking for my Griff. I remember seeing the Tiff Needell test on the old style Top Gear back in the 90's and telling myself that's a car I want some day! All the best, Pete

Hi,

Welcome!

Did you get the blue 1992 Griff on ebay? I see it was no longer available when I checked earlier.

Looked like a steal if it was any good at all.

Tipper: yes, that's the one. Has plenty of history but mileage is unknown and has been for some time. Condition is good, chassis looks good and while it's not mint, at that price it was never going to be. Looks to be a good, honest, original car with some room to improve. Unfortunately the weather was too bad to be able to bring it home - I wouldn't want to be the one saying 'I had a Griff for a few hours once...'

Unfortunately I think there are a few people miffed at the seller's insistence that viewings be done in order of interest shown. A very honourable chap who it was a pleasure to deal with.

Thanks for the welcome guys!

Hello Greg. beer
Always good to have another pre-cat on here and hope you have a great experience with yours!!
May I be the first to say, however, as is customary

Be great if you do make it to the Growl as well. It's always a very quiet, sober affair. wink

Cossers - I actually figured that I could justify getting a chassis refurb done either this winter or next but it looks good from what I could see...

Angry Jock - if it's a quiet and sober affair, I ain't going! LOL!

Pics will be up when I've collected it and given it a good detailing - no problems with claying glass fibre, I assume?
