any pipeline / fuel storage designers around?

just wondering if anyone can recommend a good course for learning the foundations of pipeline design, fuel storage vessels etc.
i work for an energy company and have recently been put in charge of the design development of our carbon fuel infrastructure [mainly diesel and HFO] including storage tanks, pumps, pipelines etc. all of which is new to me professionally. we've a couple of high level projects on the go and whilst i am keeping my head above water i would like to undertake a course/series of courses so i don't end up drowning.
any ideas? i am based in the middle east but can travel to UK or EU. i'd also appreciate pointers on books/resources if possible.

You really need a set of experts for this, the experience and field knowledge are essential.
Foundations, welding, process and structural, NDT, environment, pressure directive. A whole host of expertise required.

Dependent on what the size, and location is, there will be some significant input for the environment and constrcution phases for the design of the plant.
Too often in the past few years there has been insufficient input from experienced engineers/designers who can forsee solvable problems.
Invariably nothing is built as per original "design" due to insufficient field knowledge.

Funnily enough i have a mate who did the same thing as the OP, in a ex Russian republic. But he had some professional quals behind him. But then as the Project Manager its more knowing who to get on-board to carry the work out rather than doing it yourself.
AP Pet to be fair wont give you what you need as its more required once the installation is built and operating than the pre-construction/building phases.

Info needed?, check out the local regs, for hydro carbon storage/transmission, check out API/ASME etc. if your company is an energy provider/stocker/producer then there will be your own engineering stndards to reference as well.
