Neil Garner Open Day - Keeping an eye on the weather
Discussion
All,
Without wishing to rub in the 'salt' (pardon the pun!) with those north of the Midlands, I would just like to give a report on the conditions down here in North Wiltshire and the South Cotswolds.
At present ...... We have NO Snow! The roads are dry but needless to say, cold! I travelled to London today along the M4 and the M3 and again the roads were all clear, there was a faint dusting around the Newbury area on the hill sides, left-overs of the weekend. That's it!
We, the organisers as you can understand are keeping a close eye on the weather reports especially as we have put so much work into this years show and at this stage, have every intention of keeping the Open Day, Open!
The only weather reports I trust on the net are the BBC and the Met. Possible light flurries on Friday are forecasted, but again tonight's local BBC TV news says that could change to rain. When using the BBC Weather On Line for a more accurate report, place in, 'Swindon'.
Currently it reports for Saturday, cloudy but dry and a 'sweltering' 10degrees! - we'll believe that when it happens!
As long as it is dry and snow free, at the moment that's all we can ask for!
Those of you coming, for the first time, the event is right on a main road - the A429 and within walking distance to Kemble Airfield, the former RAF base and we all know that airfields can be well exposed - SO PLEASE bring plenty of warm clothing - Similar to skiing, Think layers!!
We will of course, keep this post updated. However, at present - we have no plans for thinking of the word 'cancellation'
