BTCC rd1 brands hatch
Discussion
Well less that a week to go for all the talking to stop and the racing to get underway. So with a record entry list announced last week we should be in with some cracking racing.
So a few teams will not be at the first rd

Apart from that everyone else should be there only team that could come unstuck is team hard.
So will Honda and mg dominate again like last year
will motorbase be abe to keep up with the above teams
will wsr be able to hit the ground running
Will team hard cars be able to finish the races
will we see a new winner
will a s2000 car punch above it's weight and compete with the lower end ngtc machinery and with the weather looking unpredictable will we see a white brands hatch.
Can't wait to see the gird line up on the grid for all the talking to end and the action to begin be a long winter.
So a few teams will not be at the first rd

You've forgotten the burniest of burning questions - will Decadence come out his winter hibernation? So a few teams will not be at the first rd

Pro or Anti-Plato, both sides were as annoying as one another and put a lot of us off commenting, decent conversation was lost among the name calling and bickering from both sides.
Snow flurries forecasted for Saturday.
I drove a test at Brands in similar conditions back in Jan - and it was horrendous. 15secs off a dry pace. They tend to use a chemical on the track to de ice it - but it's almost as bad as the ice.
I'll be with Team Honda over the weekend as usual

Could be interesting, all those cold rear tyres into Paddock on lap one! I drove a test at Brands in similar conditions back in Jan - and it was horrendous. 15secs off a dry pace. They tend to use a chemical on the track to de ice it - but it's almost as bad as the ice.

I did a trackday at Brands in December, Ice on the circuit overnight so they used that bloody awful Chemical. Apart from being slippery, it caused me no end of corrosion issues over the winter. Hindsight and I`d have hosed the car, underside, brakes, suspension etc down thoroughly, but I didn`t know it was that bad !I drove a test at Brands in similar conditions back in Jan - and it was horrendous. 15secs off a dry pace. Anyway, really looking forward to the season ! Hope the BMW`s are competitive, it`s great to see Turkington back in the series.

Yep first laps are going to be testing! but I'd still rather have a front wheel drive is these conditions
If this cold spell keeps up it'll be the summer before the RWD cars do anything. Donington will no doubt be drizzly and cold as usual! The Bee-Ems usually come on song in the summer months at Croft and Oulton when they can get a heat into the fronts!
I think tyres are going to play a massive part over the season.
What strategy will the teams employ with regards nominating a race to run the soft option tyres? Has to be done prior to qually. May not impact too much this weekend because of the track/tempertures, but Thruxton, Oulton, Silverstone and Donington will be interesting.

Croft in the dry will ruin soft tyres, especially if it's warm. That should make for an interesting race, more of attrition than skill I suspect. What strategy will the teams employ with regards nominating a race to run the soft option tyres?
