What do I want to do?
Discussion
First of all I don't post much but lurk a lot.
I'm now getting on and still have absolutely no idea what I want to do with my life. I've chopped and changed since 2006 yet still have not found something that I feel I would be ok doing for the rest of my life.
I mean just looking for something I wouldn't hate all the time, not my life long career.
I kind of enjoy numbers and balancing equations or accounts if there is a definite answer but don't see this as a valid long term career option due to missing the boat and the training and qualifying that is required now I have commitments.
Does anyone have any advice how they (for massive want of a better phrase) found themselves or their passion/career in their thirties?

There's always the option of going it on your own, many people take a hobby and turn it into something they can live off. There's an argument to that though which states you'l'l potentially be too close to the flames if it goes wrong and lose a hobby you previously enjoyed.
Have you tried a personality test? A proper one I mean, Myers Briggs type stuff will give you a few options on what type of work is best suited to your personality and work characteristics. As always, they're not perfect, and you'll only get out something relevant to what you put in

The only limiting factor here is you. I know lots of late bloomers who like you only realised their calling in their 30s but then went on to study and qualify. If you want it, do it. Good luck! Gassing Station | Jobs & Employment Matters | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
