It's about the only part of the car that left me feeling a bit disappointed about the driving experience. Just looks so bland and utilitarian!

What might be recommended as an accompaniment, as well as doing justice to the rest of the cockpit?

Pics please. smile

I was thinking about a wooden one like i have on the wedge but not too sure if it will suit the Griff.

The wooden wheel was a factory option (for pre-cats at least) and looks pretty good with the original dash veneer. I think my profile picture still shows an interior shot of mine...

Having said that the leather Personal wheels feel great in the hand to me - matches the muscular feel of the car perfectly.

That wooden one does look nice. Are they easy to obtain? Is the leather Personal version the same the factory wheel?

I'm not sure what the exact model names are for either my wooden wheel or the leather ones but Personal were the original fit for the leather wheel. I think you can still buy the Personal wheels new - wooden not sure and don't see them for sale very often.

I fitted a wooden rimmed Personal type (it is not as light as it looks in the pic due to flash, it matches the dash very well):

....and as if by magic - a Nardi wheel has appeared on eBay.... Perfect timing!

Find it for yourselves - I suspect the seller will have had enough help already from this thread - the picture of Matthews looks as good as a factory brochure shot, very nice indeed.

Pete - sorry mate, not as convinced by yours - 1979 Austin Maxi Vanden Plas springs to mind - get a better picture up quick biglaugh

It does look so much better 'in the flesh', shall take a picture in natural light with hood down. And by the way it was brand new in original box, from the 80's and was a freeby!!!! Another story some time..... Pete

I dont think you do Maggit. Dont you have a Momo Fighter, and wasnt it you i nicked the idea from.

I removed the paint from mine and it's sitting on the bonnet (stop with the heart attacks, the bonnet is under lots of covers) waiting for my new dash, then it can be refitted.

Want a picture?
