Lots of speculation out there including a dumb article from the Mail but I think it's safe to assume there were a few broken bones on board.

I've had a couple of sports boats and a RIB and not once have I thought going into a wave like that was a good idea!!

To be honest, the Avon jet RIBs with the Weber 4 stroke engine, are the worst pieces of crap I've ever seen!
The first time the shaft support bearing shat itself, I had to take the engine out to remove the shaft cover.
I couldn't get at the nuts on the soft mounts, so I removed the nuts that hold the mount onto the inner part of the hulll, only to hear a "clunk" as the backing plate fell down into the void between the inner and outer mouldings!
The main harness was like a nest of vipers dumped in the bilge.
The turbo's go for fun.
Shocking shocking build quality.

We have a Brig with a 50hp Mariner outboard now. That's a horrible thing too! But my employers like "fancy".

I miss the days I worked on the bigger yachts, and we had quality gear such as Delta's.

Mate of mine had a Donzi. It went through so many very expensive parts that we called it the Donkey. He got rid. The two happiest days in a sailor's life etc. etc.
