I've been bitten by a spider !!

Last night a felt something running up my arm, I brushed it off and being in a bit of a haze realised it must have been a spider. Turning over I then laid on top of it and it bit me near my nipple.

Now it bloody hurt, caused a swelling (not very big admittedly) made my left arm feel a little lame and I couldn't get to sleep for a while.

Today I have a rash about 3-4 inches square and it still stings.

I saw the little critter and it was one of those spiders where it had a huge bum compared to the rest of its body, brown in colour and about a centimeter in size.

I don't remember a normal house spider looking like this or biting ?

Any ideas ?

I haven't tried yet, but I do need to remove a CCTV camera I can't get too.

Or a common garden orb weaver (if lighter colour). Both can bite but they are not dangerous.

I've been bitten by one of these too.

Normal house spider, as per usual, wife screams, I go and collect it, letting it run over my hand, it stops and launches its fangs into the top of my hand....i'd say it was like being stung by a wasp, caught me unawares as I didn't know they could do that at the time.

Took my a while to get my confidence back up to picking them up again without tissue, but I kind of figure i'm a man and should thusly man up accordingly.

My wife opened a bag of bananas and called me to the kitchen telling me there was a scorpion in them !

I thought she was losing it but when I tipped the bag out on the floor, a bloody scorpion scuttled across the floor with its stinger up!

It was a poisonous one from Belize apparently.

...I probably shouldn't be reading these links as an arachnophobic with many false widows living around my home. Mostly in the corners of the garage/gym, and under the gutters - though there is one that lives behind the letterbox.
