What would you put a 4.2 AJP engine in?
Discussion
We have an engine and gearbox - aside from a Cerb, any suggestions for what we could put it in?
Probably for track use only, as that just simplifies the whole affair.
SOmething like a Mark III Capri is an obvious candidate, but I wouldn't mind looking at something a bit more sophisticated handling wise - like an RX-8 or similar, although obviously part of the reason that handle so well is the low CoG of the wankel.
In any case, anyone seen anyone do something similar, or got any ideas?

Do you have a budget in mind or scope of the project?
The Triumph TR7 is a good modding platform, large engine bay, good chassis, fairly light, separate engine subframe and lots of handling and go faster mods. It's also a proven rally and circuit race car.
MX-5 maybe or Porsche 924 could work too or even a Wedge or S Series TVR.

One of us owns a garage, so we're easy on scope. :-)The Triumph TR7 is a good modding platform, large engine bay, good chassis, fairly light, separate engine subframe and lots of handling and go faster mods. It's also a proven rally and circuit race car.

Won't the TR7 be a) rusty and b) Hard to get hold of?
MX-5 would be easy of course...What about an E36 three series? Or even better, an E30?

BMW just seems a bit obvious and a bit boring, not as if there aren't modded BMW's already. BTW my e36 was a heck of a lot more rusty than my 1977 TR7 is.Won't the TR7 be a) rusty and b) Hard to get hold of?
