LAMBORGHINI 400 GT 2+2 RHD at Tom Hartleys
Discussion
Yes I know Tom Hartley's have had a lot of stick on here, I myself have not been overly impressed when I last spoke to them, but I have to say their recent move into buying and selling classics is producing some very nice cars, and here is a classic(sic) example.
I not sure what the general consensus on the LAMBORGHINI 400 GT 2+2 is on this forum but I love them and this example looks absolutely perfect. If I had the spare cash I would snap it up. What do others think?

Anyone know the price? Annoys me all this POA.
agreed - if they can quote a Veyron at £745k, why the cloak and dagger about the other 3 cars at POAThe car is indeed drop dead gorgeous.

A red one for £157K. Not as nice as the Grey and LHD.

Hmm. I'm told that this car was supplied new to Paul McCartney before being owned by someone for 30 years. Odd that this isn't mentioned by Tom Hartley - so is this incorrect? What a gorgeous car.
Wrong plate wrong colour wrong car it would appear http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/columnists/nei...Try5t said:

Yes, it is one of the most irritating things about the motor trade. There should be a law against it!

But it seemed very over restored , which is not to everyone's taste.
As regards Paul McCartmey, Del Hopkins told me years ago that he'd never had a 400GT, as the Pullicinos were selling one with the same claim. He'd had an Espada. Del also said that none of these were original RHD, they'd all been converted subsequently.
Beautiful cars; and the kids can come too.......

Agreed. But as explained to me. If the car is on SOR you may not wish the owner to know the price that you are marketing their car for.
Why not? I thought most SOR is on a fixed fee basis, and surely as the owner you would want to know the price it will be marketed at and so if it will take longer to sell than average.Unless the garage wants to lie to you and pocket the difference

+1 on POA - I see these cars and never chase them s as I cannot see why the sellers cannot just put the price on the advert. I am told it is to only attract real buyers but I have bought enough to dispel that s%@t!!
+2 I was looking at 1960s classics a couple of years ago and didn't bother with several as I thought I couldn't have afforded them. As it happens, I was probably wrong. The one dealer I did phone (based on the way into Hendon) never bothered to call back anyway, which might not have been a bad thing. They always used to say "if you have to ask, you can't afford it", however I think "If you have to ask, they're taking the p155" is possibly more appropriate these days.
