Does anyone know what software Aston Martin runs? And can I use any OBD code reader to clear a fault or do I need a specific one?

Planning on ordering any universal reader from ebay but want to make sure i'm not wasting money.

Hints/tips appreciated.

Thanks
Lewis

There are 2 OBD ports by your left knee. You don't need to take off any trim to access it. One port is the engine and the other for body work.

There is some law or other that states that all cars have to be able to access their OBD diagnostic for emmission controls. So any generic OBD will reset the emission issues, but other stuff like ABS and SRS is Aston specific, you can still get it, but will cost a small fortune. smile

I think it might have been me because this is the one that I bought recently. Really easy to use and cleared the 'emissions service required' engine light on my V8V.

If you get one, AM doesn't appear in the initial manufacturers list when you power it up. But I selected Jaguar and it worked fine. Ford or Volvo would probably work as well. getmecoat
