Do these give up and fail like the engine mounts do? Easy enough to change or usual inaccessible knuckle-mangling palava?

Mine looked in great nick when removed the box recently and not been changed in all the years I've had the car. The gearbox mounts aren't subject to quite as much heat and vibration as the engine mounts so I'd guess they last a lot longer. The bolts that hold em are a different matter though - worth replacing as they're pretty open to all the elements. can't advise on fitting as the lot came out with the engine and box wholesale.
