Hi Gents,

Had a quick search but only found how to remove the car from the dolly.

Can anyone direct me to the dimensions for the dolly please, as I can make it before the chassis arrives in a month or so.

Cheers

Just found this, is it right?

Hi Leem5

That looks like the one I took my dimensions from (CJ's site?)

Worked for me.

Cheers,

I guess so, I just did a quick google search not expecting anything and this link popped up.

Lee

All sorted, the factory sent me the details.

I recommend you get the side tubes welded a bit lower in order to have some access with your hands underneath the chassis should you need to...

CJ had mine after I finished with it.
I had one built with a couple of subtle changes which made a world of difference!

1. Much larger casters complete with foot operated locks for easier movement and stability.
2. the longitudinal centre spans (3 of them) were two at the bottom and one top so easier access underneath.
3. These spans were unboltable, so breakdown/storage/ transportation was easy.
4. The 4 pillars where the chassis rested were made to slide (about 2 ft) in and out of the vertical post, and with holes and pin, could be locked higher or lower to suit the job at hand.

If I was to build another - I would do it again the same!

Now that is a great way of doing it different. If I had only known before....

I made my dolly fully welded as above and glad I did as I installed the engine and transmission, driveshafts, front and rear clips, etc while it was on the dolly.

This made things a lot easier for access and back strain!

I used a telescopic forklift to lift it off when complete.

For an old git like me that's what I'm going to be doing also...

If you are building your own then think about raising the lower rails so the legs of your engine hoist will pass under.
