If you don't get the race in the bottom of the hub perfectly flat then the bearing destroys it when you reassemble it. I had a tiny burr from getting the old race out that I failed to spot and did this. Filed burr off, bought another bearing kit (ebay) and all was well.

IIRC the torque setting has a range and I think it can go up to something like 320lbft. Will check sierra manual shortly.

310 - 350 Nm or 229 - 258 lb ft in my Haynes

My next move would be take it all apart, clean up, check for damage, compare new with old, try again ?

ETA have you done both sides, are they both the same?

Hi
Don't these bearings heat with driving and the clearance at hot is right, I think I saw that in a manual??

No discernible play in mine, hot or cold.
