Bike storage

I'm buying a flat that has limited outdoor storage (there's a little outhouse, but i'd be lucky to fit one bike minus wheels in there)

Can anybody recommend an outdoor bike storage house - that doesn't take up huge amounts of space and cost a fortune?

Put a bike hook in the ceiling somewhere, maybe above the stairwell? That's what my BIL does. Needs to be mounted into something a bit more solid than just the plaster of course ;-)
