I'm wanting to see just how fast my Cerbera 4.2 really is, and was wondering where you can go to find out the top speed. (Apart from Germany) Are there any track days on runways in the UK that are long enough / will let you try?
Any one experianced one? Just how fast did you go in a 4.2?

mycerbera,

try and book yourself into the TVR Mania day at Duxford on 10th August.

I think you get to go down the runway at Duxford. I think Flasher took his Cerbera down it (don't know what speed he did tho').

And by the way, make sure you've run the bugger in properly!

I'd come and watch but I'm on holiday

Duxford runway is only 3/4 of a mile, so you won't get terminal speed. Bentwaters is 2 miles, but I'm not sure it's still available.

Duxford is a bit short for terminal velocity stuff, only about 3/4 of a mile.

Try Bruntingthorpe airfield in Leicestershire, which I believe is an old US bomber base. Runway there is circa 3 miles, enough to max out most cars. Last time I was there for a track day they opened the full length of it during the lunch break.

Elvington, near York, is a 2 mile runway, and is an oval circuit, coming back up the 2 mile long taxiway. I've never been, but it's absolutely covered in stone chips, which pebble dash your car. But it is the best place to get a speed run going. TVRCC run days there, and I think there is an Elvington day coming up.

Duxford is quite short, but I achieved an indicated 155mph in the Cerb there last year. I have seen 180mph on "another road" but I'm not saying where....

So far in the Tamora I have seen 159mph which was verified by Benno who was alongside me in his Ferrari...... and there was plenty more to go....

Well I'm sure Benno will back me up here......but I had pulled out a big gap due to the preceeding chicane (ahem...round-about ) and was just starting to chuckle to myself when he came alongside, I think he would have destroyed me after that but we just sat there enjoying the "Top Gear-like" duet...

Hey flasher, I've got a toy just like yours, and I got 154 out of it the other day - (private road, obviously - probably the same one you use...) So we're the 150+ twins now - gemini, even - oh, gemini, that's castor and pollux to you....

Not quite in the 'big boy league' but I was at Bruntingthorpe the other week in my Chimaera and managed an indicated 155 before having to slow down
