Well stupidly clipped the kerb the other day so am looking for recommendations to refurb the alloys on
a 2008 Tungsten / Black roof Vantage Roadster.

Actually considering changing the alloy colour at the same time.

Anyone else done this ? Have photos ? Recommendations as to where to get this done ?

Thanks,
Nick

There have been a few, Nick, so may be best to allude to your location-ish in case somebody has a recommendation nearby smile

IMO have them finished in bright silver powder coat all over. Easy to maintain and less corrosion. Darker body colours like tungsten look better with silver wheels.

Ooops, Definitely in bank holiday weekend mode !!

I'm based in Fleet, Hampshire.

So Thames Valley area (Reading) , Surrey / Hampshire area are all good.

Unable to send 'Luna' a message , his profile wouldn't allow it.

I started looking at Google images of Tungsten Vantages , only found 2 alternative photos - dark grey / black wheels.
Photos are not that clear though.

Also came across a nice photo of my old Vantage Coupe the day i bought it smile

Jockman - Thanks for the tips , Northwest is a little too far away though - now i added my location smile

Drofnavi - that was what i was thinking , like the idea of 'a bright silver'

Thanks again,
Nick

The dealer darkened my alloys before he sold me my tungsten silver coupe.

When I had mine done, I had the choice of "charcoal" or "gunmetal" I went with the charcoal, but once they were back on the car, I wish I'd gone for the gunmetal.... It's only a subtle difference, the gunmetal is a shade lighter to the eye...

I had mine done at the wheel specialist in Brum, and am very happy with both price and quality...

I can highly recommend these guys:

http://www.thewheelwizard.ltd.uk/

They refurbished the wheels on our V8V and did an excellent job. They have just moved next door to Trinity Engineering in Cobham.

The best company I have come across is based in Hampshire:

www.thewheelspecialist.co.uk

they are very well regarded and did a fantastic job on one of my Ferrari's wheels (which wasn't easy as they are magnesium)

I think a darker colour would work well with Tungsten and it would also hide the dreaded brake dust...

nono

Silver behind the spokes is a PITA to clean as tar sticks and brake dust builds up, even taking the wheel off to clean it doesn't really sort it (unless you apply a lot of OCD wink )
Best I've found is the powder coat finish below.
Black in the inside of the wheel blending to smoked chrome on the very front of the wheel
Gives a similar finish to diamond cutting on the front face with out the cost and fragility.
It is done by a black powder coat all over, followed by a silver faded in to the black followed by a high gloss clear top coat.
I will be doing this to a set of sport pack wheels (of one version or another) at some point.
VERY VERY durable IME

Hi Nick,

Here's my old Tungsten V8V Coupe. I think the wheels were described to me as "Anthracite". I didn't have them done originally, but they were refurbed at Spit & Polish in Sevenoaks and they did an excellent job:

And for the Roadster effect, here they are on my current steed (Titanium Silver):

I now have N400 style SP wheels on it biggrin
