Jap imports & Road Tax ??

I'm keen on the idea of importing a Land Cruiser Colorado/Prado 3.0Td MY 2000-2001.

Will I be hit for the current higher Road tax as it's just been imported to the UK for the first time. Or will it sill be age related as year of munufacture ??

It's done on engine size, as they used to do it before 2001. So for example <1.5 is one bracket, >1.5 litre is the other bracket, and I don't think there is a further bracket for 3.0 plus? (I could be wrong - all my imports were 2.0 or less, but fell in the same category as a 2000 UK 1.6 car would). Probably be £200 odd these days.

Yea, it's £220 for over 1.5 for the year and £115 for below
