who r they kidding - replacement radiator £400 - they paid out 1/2, not worth the bother, no where near the £500 settlement they offer.

and to add to that they said I contributed to the labour in their letter to me after I aked for clarification, HELLO? I think I'll be taken up this years lack of insurance with them - they are really good

Hello there. Sorry that you feel ripped off. A rad is about £100 to re-core plus lab to remove and refit plus the dreaded. Can't really understand some of your post but you car looks great. J

oops, I was a bit drunk when I opened my mail from the warranty company last night and was very ****** off with them. My previous posts don't make much sense at all - must have been in a right state last night. Anyway the warranty company are trying to fob me off saying they will only pay £240 towards the replacement of my rad because it's a 1996 car and I should contribute towards the labour. I said I would cover the difference in labour as their accepted labour amount was 30/hour and mine was 51/hour. Are all warranty companys like this when they have to pay out? Or is that a reasonable settlement?

A warranty is simply an insurance policy by another name. If you think of it like this you will better understand the likely pitfalls.

This means that the provider will operate to the letter of the contract between you, no more and no less.

I therefore suggest that you read the warranty VERY carefully particularly the small print. If you believe you have a case then write to them and politely point out their error.

Many after market insurance backed warranties have a labour rate set well below the dealer's expected rate. Similarly claims are often capped at, say, £2,000 per claim. If the dealer who is to do the repair sold you the warranty they may split some (or all!) of the difference with you. Worth a go!
