Does anyone have an opinion on what the chassis colour ought to be, purists will want "the way it left the factory" look, but even they might agree the way the cars left Blackpool, wasn't probably as perfect as they could have been. Hence all the upgrades/modifications that are now available.

I will like mine to be fairly standard, I like to drive it. Its a nice place to sit. But it won't see a racetrack or a hillclimb, in my ownership.

I'd be quite happy with white or battleship grey, but as my car is the fantastic halcyon blue, I have wondered whether a similar shade of blue might be good as well.

Does anyone think that if it weren't white, its value or resale appeal, in the years to come, when I cannot get in or out of her, would be affected?

what you're thoughts

IMO white is best.
You can see its been done and what its current condition is.

Avoid dark colours, particularly black.

Battleship grey here, purely as it was to try and match the previously blasted and powder coated suspension componants.

As a non TVR owner, I'd like to see it with a contrasting chassis colour.

Red, or gold, something like that.

How about a nice iron oxide brown? You wont see the rust that way!

I like the battleship grey on yours Richv6, but the more I think about it the advice on white is very good, it really stands out, any small chip will be easy to spot and retreat, PITA to keep clean but worth it, here's a random thought has anyone got white spiders on a halcyon blue cerb with a white chassis and wishbones, have I gone mad or does that appeal to anyone else?

No images on the interwebb of any Cerb with white wheel ..... I wonder why scratchchin

If you did this combo I think you'd have to add a big spoiler on the back, some kind of device to go "pish" when you change gear and a bunch of stickers no one can understand because they're in japanese.

The white chassis and suspension components will have a nice contrast with the underside but the wheel colour IMO should contrast with the body colour and not be so strikingly different.

And that battleship grey chassis does look rather nice thumbup

WARNING! CHASSIS PORN AHEAD!

Of course Grey is best. White is too garish.

I would galvanise first
Then go for lime green powder then a coat of
Metallic 2k with a coat of clear gloss powder
Hay presto

I will now wait for the abuse from the
Purists out there

Zinc, not galvanised...

The galvanisation process is hot and can warp the chassis.

How about black??

I've had lots of chassis and bike frames
Galvanised before with no twisting
Or warping I'm not saying its not poss just that
I've never had a problem
And I still think metallic lime green is the way to go
Sick I know

No probs with the colour, just the primer...

...however, lime green looks best on a Ninja. wink
