Happy Easter chaps!
Looking for a squat rack/power tower thingy. For squat, bench and shoulder press.

Found this one:

http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=2...

Thinking that as it's going against a wall in the garage, that one like this would be better as I can walk forwards to re rack when doing squats...

Any thoughts or suggestions? Looking to spend a max of £250.

Cheers,

Sam

Looks good, only thing I'll point out is 200kg max. Might not be a problem for you yet but just saying biggrin

Cheers guys.

Mike - like that, assume the extra safety of the cage is that it has upright front and back to 'land' against if necessary?

Only thing that hasn't got it weight storage pins, but that's no biggie.

Noticed they do a set with a seven position bench for 325...

the benefit, is that the bars mean if you drop it, or collapse the saftey bars stop your weight bar
where as a rack, you slump to the floor lol

i also find i get poor form when putting back on a rack, as i tend to bend forward a little when squatting etc

its a worse case scenario, and as i work out on my own, i can still go heavy. i sold a rack similar to your origanal posted ebay one, and replaced with the cage. definatley the best move i made

mine has pull up handles on it etc, and over time depending on model and money etc, you can add bits, eg lat pull down etc.

Sway, we use that rack at my gym. They're fine for most things but you have to make sure that when you squat and fail, you're over the safety bars...I ended up squatting at a slight angle to the rack one time and failed with 140kg on my shoulders, I checked the right side and lowered it down to the safety bar, checked the left side which had completely missed the safety bar and *CRASH*.

Get a cage, they're safer.
