Is there a better car suited to that route?

My first time there and..... Wow.

Will try and post pics later.

A bit of a trek from London but rewarding.

The tale...

Here come the proper pics and a little story...

Start with a clean car:

Drive 240 miles and arrive late at night to the excellent groes inn:

Choose food wisely:

Get to know the surroundings:

Always get pudding, never know what can happen in life:

Get a room with a view:

Once, you are nicely settled, head for the evo triangle:

Drive and drive more:

Stop for some breathtaking scenery:

Make sure you have the only company in the world who can immitate an aston with its doors opened:

..... And an idiot who can immitate reg plates......

Take one last glimpse before going for another drive:

Come back to the hotel and realise the mess you have just done :

Then don't forget to go sightseeing to please your other half...

.....and of course pretend you are romantic and try to capture the instant......

Refuel with solid stuff....

Eat your 5 a day to avoid constipation:

Then go for a dump in the groes inn loo and watch the good pics:

Sleep and wake up in foul mood:

Watch the baby sheeps and smile:

Then stop fckg around and drive again...

Stop for a pee is essential:

Watch one last time the beautifull scenery you leave behind:

And get back home aided by a crap satnav

Beautiful Car....
Beautiful Babe....
Beautiful Scenery....

...but do you think you need to take some medication for taking pictures of custard and broccoli in a pub?

More of the first two, youre about right on the the third, drop the broc and custard to make space for everything else.

Cheers

Well you've set me off down memory lane now and those-in-the-know will groan and know why biggrin

Rob & I stayed at The Groes twice last year. The first time was for a couple of days in early Feb with snow on the ground much like in your photos. We were with EVO for a drive and photo shoot, around the Evo triangle naturally wink

http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

The second was when a bunch of us stayed there for Mikey K's Spring run out last April.

Happy days smile

Cracking pictures that really tell a story, really made me pine for a good drive out smile

I remember explaining to Rob how BR stuff worked in the Groes while he was waving his arms about shouting 'Don't tell Molly' rolleyes

What a great weekend that was. We must do it again Mollypops, I assume you have all the plans to hand still yes

Mollypops is your new name, sorry yes

The 'pub' being the groes inn, i allowed myself to go sideways a bit..... And the idea was to contextualise the whole thing..... wink

yes

Reminded me of this:

and this:

I remember explaining to Rob how BR stuff worked in the Groes while he was waving his arms about shouting 'Don't tell Molly' rolleyes
Well it was the day we had been to Bamford Rose for the first time.

Also the day that a bunch of us had been to Gaydon, and then the Friday 5 headed off for North Wales led by Mikey K (via the Gaydon loop rolleyes wink)

We thought we would never get there!

Before we set off for the meet next morning Cockernee nicked our car! It was good for him to be reminded of the joys of driving a V8 smile

Then we all set off for some driving fun driving

What a great weekend that was. We must do it again Mollypops, I assume you have all the plans to hand still yes
I wouldn't be at all surprised if we one day have another PH meet up there. MK has moved further south but there must be somebody in North Wales who could pull together another meet. There's no shortage of good driving routes up there scratchchin
Mollypops is your new name, sorry yes
I don't think so irked How can I be one of the lads with a name like that tongue out

PS sorry - formatting has gone a bit to c*ck
