I've a very odd fault on the wipers. Basically they will only work on full speed and don't park properly, and the motor rocks violently from side to side. However, I took off the wiper arms and stripped and lubed the motor. With the blades removed fast, slow and intermittent all work (although intermittent is dodgy, and to get slow to work you sometimes have to go to fast and then come down). I put a paint dot on the wiper shaft and it seems to park in the same place evey time. Put the wiper blades back on, and only fast works and they don't park, put water on the screen and the wipers go much faster, but stil don't consistently park. Can't decide if fault lies with motor or wheel boxes once under load. HELP. Hoping its the motor 'cos don't fancy taking out dash to get to wheel boxes. If I hold the shafts when turning with blades off there seems to be plenty of torque.

First off try the relay in the fuse board, they often work loose.

Apart from the parking issue, your problem sounds a bit like the one I had - http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Sounds more like the motor to me as mine did the same - would only work at full speed. Adrian Venn can refurb them and if you expalin the problem he will be more able to confirm where the problem may be. His number is 07956 956042.
