Happy Easter all!

I am in the process of fitting the coolant pipes along the sides of the car. Whilst I've got the pipes ligning up with the radiator ok, I am worried that the pipe on both sides is too close to the lower front wishbone.

I'd appreciate any thoughts - was hoping to have this done before the end of the bank hol!

Yes - its tight isn't it - I remember thinking exactly the same - but I see that you dont have the blue silicon pipe in position yet... you have put the pipe exactly at the same position as the entry pipe into the radiator. I ended up positioning the pipes a bit higher by re-drilling the brackets and attaching them higher up on the horizontal chassis rail.

I found it was OK to have them higher, and then the blue silicon pipe is flexible enough to allow for that slight difference in height - another 10mm or so, and it will be fine. It MIGHT be fine as it is - but I decided to move the pipes.

I hope that helps.

It looks from your pics as if you have rolled the mounting brackets a bit to far which is then holding the pipe lower than it should be.

Thanks Pilbeam - that is helpful. I am still hoping that someone might post and say it's fine as is, but I can't help but think that an extra 10mm would make all the difference.

Thanks Steve - that is what I have done. I thought it would hold the pipe tighter, and that the critical bit would be getting the alignment with the radiator pipes right.

The other thing I did - which I have just remembered - is that I took the strut out and I jacked up the hub to see the amount of movement that the hub could have before the wishbone touched the pipe...after I had raised the pipes by about 10mm, there was plenty of "hub movement" available before the pipes were touched and I reckoned that was MUCH more than the wheel would ever move...

The maximum the wheel can rise from normal ride height is 4" before the chassis in on the ground and the wheels are through the top of the wings!!!!

Steve is correct (as usual) the pipes do not line up perfectly at the radiator.

Thanks again all. Presumably, with the ride height bars in place, that gives the normal ride height? So, if I have 4 inches of upward movement at the hub, then I should be ok?

Thanks also for the recommendations and tips which I will certainly keep in mind when I get to that part of the build
