On start up the dash is telling me the water temp is 201 degrees - is it likely to be a sensor issue??

Also, the doors need a bit of a tug to get them open - will greasing the mechanisms/clean the electrical connections do the job

Flailing in the dark as usual, so any assistance welcome smile

Thanks

Bob

It was a bit warmer today though, just not that warm laugh
If you need borrow some contact cleaner for electrical stuff Bob just let me know, also if you need any help too, same applies.

Thanks Kev, help always welcome.

Also, i forgot to mention the heater is still hit and miss, despite buying a refurbed switch from GV 2 years ago: i'm fairly certain this is still working so assume it's a "car side" connection (does that make sense?)

Not sure about most stuff on Tamora's Bob, but if someone suggest something and you need a hand with it, I am more than willing to help if I can.

Mine has always said that when I start it when it is cold outside / frosty, I just assumed it was because the sensor doesn't recognise when the temp is 0 or below, given 45 secs or so it reads 1C and progresses upwards from there. I thought it abit like the frost warning not going off if air temp reads -1 or below!!! Guess it just means that I shouldn't be driving in those comditions.

I get the 201deg reading when the sensor is out of range. Will be fine when the water gets over 0 deg C

Flat door seals mean the doors don't 'pop' and will need replacing costs about £50

If the heater amp is still playing up I would replace the plug on the loom side as the pins might be loose giving a poor connection.

Hi Bob,
As Shep has said, 201 is quite normal for the Tamora when the real temperature is below 0. I've seen it a lot this winter.

Try a section of screen washer pipe inserted into the seals before replacing?

I once did this on an old Escort Mk1 to help with a wind noise problem, it worked a treat.

Thanks for the info chaps

I'll have a play with the doors and heater once the temperature gets above 5 degrees, probably the end of June at this rate rolleyes
