Wireless HDMI range and costs?

I've just discovered wireless HDMI, and it could potentially allow me to solve a problem in my flat when I eventually get TiVo.
My concerns are that my bedroom is at the back of a victorian house, and the tv at the front. The signal would need to pass through three walls to get to my bedroom. At present a wifi signal just about makes it to my room but it is poor and sometimes drops out.
I'm guessing that a wireless HDMI signal will be even more fragile and therefore won't make it. With this in mind, can you get extender boxes like you can get for wifi?
Also, assuming that the answer above is yes, what is a rough cost?
