Boot Release Solenoid from Maplins
Discussion
Bit of an FYI, maybe of help to some of you
On Saturday i replaced the boot solenoid, if anyone else needs one the part number is YD79L from Maplins, although they call it an Actuator.
Perfect straight swap, grand total of £8 as well!
You need the two wire version, its worth checking inside the box as they use the same box for both the 5 wire and two wire.

And how do you wire it up please ???

Permanent Live feed from the back of the ignition switch (via a fuse), select an earth in the area (plenty to choose from), use this to power the relay AND also put it to the part of the switch that's OPEN by default.JC
Take the other side of that switched circuit and feed it to the output side of the boot switch under the steering collumn - that's it.
When you press the remote the relay energises and puts the 12V feed onto the wire connected to the boot solenoid, opening the boot.
Simple as that (20 mins work)
