From what I understand, Time Attack is like qualifying - you attempt to set the fastest lap and I think you get multiple attempts.
Sprinting is from a standing start and you get just two practice runs and two timed runs (sometimes more) to set a time.
That Mitsubishi looks very fast and is cornering well. There's time to be had on the brakes though - 1.5G in the corners and barely 1G on the brakes.

You won't find the general regulations for Time Attack in the Blue Book. Whether by accident or design, not publishing them allows the Time Attack people to maintain a monopoly on organising the events, as no other clubs can possibly comply with the requirements to get a permit as they can't find out what those requirements are.It is a curious situation and one I should have asked John Symes about when he addressed a meeting I attended.
Most impressive performance at Cadwell had to be Danny Winstanley in the Sagaris, just shy of 2 seconds slower than the Evo with less power and only 2wd. But something like 5 seconds quicker than th next quicker 2wd car.
The next TA round should be good though as the new Roger Clark Motorsport Impreza will be out.

Thanks - I'm glad that it wasn't a case of not seeing for looking when I had a look in the Blue Book & didn't find anything. The website I was referring to was the Time Attack one, & reading your post I'm now starting to see why I couldn't find any real regs on there either....!!It is a curious situation and one I should have asked John Symes about when he addressed a meeting I attended.

As a Jedi driver I too was always impressed by a Jedi holding the lap record on the same basis. These things are pretty basic but effective all the same and well suited to Cadwell. I don't understand why the sprint time doesn't count? Is the sprint not a full lap. I presume a current top spec Gould or similar would be a contender for setting best time at Cadwell?Edmundo2 said:

I doubt the sprint will use the start line as also the finsh line so doubt it will be a full laprallycross said:

would love to see these cars race rather than just single laps, these cars are todays world version of the old special saloons.
Some of the cars do, Danny used to race his TVR in GT cup, however most of the turbo car are designed solely for time attack so wouldnt be capable to do a 20 min race running the power there on for there one lap chargewould love to see these cars race rather than just single laps, these cars are todays world version of the old special saloons.
