C63 first impressions
Discussion
I've just spent 24 hours with a C63 Coupe, and was very very impressed. I haven't had so much fun in a car in years. That engine is just sublime, and the interior quality is much better than I had expected. The handling and road holding were just spot on. But above all, it's the engine which really makes the car.
I had a M6 a couple of weeks ago, and for me the C63 is just a better all round car. The M6 is obviously a smarter place inside, and more powerful, but a much less rewarding drive. Even if the M6 wasn't twice the price, I would still prefer the C63.
Fuel economy was obviously an issue. £40 of unleaded for my daily commute. Although I did see 25 mpg average on my journey in to work (speed limited by weight of traffic).

Yes. All £110k of it!
Interesting feedback - I had a previous E61 shape M6 back in '09 and after just 4 months ownership, I sold it to buy my first C63, a first-gen Performance Pack. And whilst I was blown away by the sound and whole drama of the C63, I always thought it would feel relatively slow after the bombastic M6. But that just wasn't the case - the Merc might not have been quite so ballistic right at the top end but in nearly every other way, I preferred the C63. So much so that, six months later, I bought my second C63 PPPlus. As is typical with me, I sold that 10 months later (to supposedly move on to greater things
) but it's always been the one car I've really regretted selling. I have to admit to seriously considering the new M6 a couple of months ago (hence my question), however I'm instead back in an AMG now and loving every minute of it
