First of all thanks for all of your help with the info provided on changing my starter ... just finished and went with too many hitches !! although i did nearly drop one of the spacers on the cam cover !!!!

Only problem i have is that the rev counter isnt working, i double checked everything was connected and the only thing that i have noticed is that the small wire running from the connecter underneath the first coil pack (nearest starter) is looking very poor and i can feel bare wire poking through sleave. Is this anything to do with the rev counter ????

Or have i missed something really obvious ??

Cheers Guys

Did you disturb the big fuse ? That can have rev counter issues although usually intermittent.

Sounds like the oil pressure light switch. In the v under the 1st coil pack, single wire.

Does the car drive normally? about 14 volts at the battery at idle? Revcounter playing up could be big fuse related or a dead rev counter.

Fitted a new big fuse last month, but i wonder if man handling it about could have caused an issue, i did disconnect both coil packs to move them out of the way to get the starter out, could it be one of those connectors ??

Just been out to the car ... had a quick look at big fuse all appears ok, one thing i did notice was that when i touched the horn button the rev counter moved up to 1.5k ..... very odd any ideas ??
