Evening everyone,
Managed to get the car out this weekend and thought hey why not get the roof off. While driving around i found the wond was causing a loud buffeting sound. The rear screen was in but As i have never removed the rear screen, for fear of introducing a leak, can anyone comment on this?

So maybe questions:
Do people experience problems with leaks after refitting the rear screen?
Does anyone drive with it in? (I was fearful it would pop out so didn't go above 60 on the motorway)

I drive with mine in all the time. Done a track day at knockhill with it in, as well as the three hour drive there. I've got raceproved clips though and the wing nut type screws to hold it in.

Mine has never leaked , but it did pop out one te when I first got it and took the roof of ( at high speed shat the life out of me ) I now have the mark 2 version that is 15 mm deeper at the bottom cost about £80 if I remember right and never had any more problems !

Take mine in and out all the time - never had a problem with leaks so far (from the way it is positioned overlapping the seals leaks don't seem likely anyhow). If the weather's good enough for the roof off then I've always had the screen out for even more engine sound. If the weather isn't good enough for the roof off but dry - then I have the window out for engine noise. If it's raining - then I begrudgingly drive with it in. wink

Cheers everyone,

Its a MkII so the larger screen is fitted. I just worried that its a huge air pressure on the screen.
Well next time she is out..... I shall try the rear screen out.... wait more engine noise? Omg my minds about to melt tongue out

Regularly took my screen out (MK1) never had issues with leaks. Left in, I lost the screen at 80mph, but Raceproved clips stopped this happenning again

I prefer driving with the rear screen out...its lovely even with the roof on as you get the outdoors feel / noise without the buffeting you get with the roof off.

Its also warmer (maybe i am being girly!!!) but also helps when the sun is low - stops the glare.

I have the raceproved clips in too - i hate the buffeting with the roof off but screen in so rarely do it - but it is secure.

Never had any leak problems...

If you do just take the roof off, try lifting the windows part way as it stops the buffeting at higher speeds.
