Quick question regarding braided fuel pipe .. Does the clamp go over the braid or does it need to be cut back ? The hose clips do not like to tighten up over the braid ,in fact I have damaged both clamps by trying to get them reasonably tight .

The jubilee clips are now sprained..confused They are made by sytec .

Put a thin bit of insulation tape over the braid

Done that ! They seem to be loose so after a tweak the jubilee clips let go ..

Daren,
The hose finisher size I use with my kit is AN-6.
This is fine with the Aeroquip braided fuel hose used.
These are cut to length with a special cintered blade but still require taping prior to cutting.
The finished cut is very clean and the tape help to prevent the braid unwrapping.
This may in fact be the problem.
Suggest you use pvc tape or heatsrink but try to draw out the braid to the cut ends using gloves.

Finally measure the OD of the hose.
The AN sizes actually relate to the ID of the hose which has no real relevance for hose finishers!

Call me if you want to discuss on 01484 607937

Best of luck John

Thanks ,I just think the jubilee style clips on the sytec clips are cheap ..I seem to get better results with a genuine jubilee clip and the rubber covers .

are you using fuel hose clamps, or the standard jubilee type clips? I find the fuel hose clamps distort the hose less.

I tried the fancy looking things above ! Its takes nothing for the jubilee style clip to let go ..total waste of space but they do look nice .
