Breakdown Cover
Discussion
Going to be picking up my Chimaera tomorrow and need to sort out breakdown recovery - last time I had a Chimaera+Cerbera I started with the AA but found that every breakdown I spent 10 minutes arguing with them that I needed a flatbed truck. I moved to Green flag who at the time a lot of TVR owners said were easier to deal with.
My perception (and could be wildly wrong!) is that most AA I see around are the vans that can tow/lift at the front which would clearly not be a viable option.
So what are most peoples experiences with AA/GreenFlag/RAC these days?
I know this has been answered in other places - but I could not find a thread that really gave a current answer.

I had no problems with my T350, they send a flatbed each time and wouldn't even consider towing.
With the Sag they insisted it would go on a standard flatbed and wouldn't send a demountable. As soon as the flatbed turned up he immediately said he wouldn't even attempt to get it on and arranged for a demountable.
Took about 4 hours from beginning to end but I was at home and it was classed as low priority.

I need to sort out breakdown cover when I start doing some longer trips in the summer. I see Quidco are doing £70 cashback if you take out their cover with all the options. This works out at £200 including the warranty. So £130 after cashback. Not bad.
Try Auto Aid. £38 for recovery and home start for you and your (legal) spouseThey use local garages and the big difference is you pay for recovery costs and claim back direct.
Every review I have read has been positive and the cost saiving over the AA/RAC is significant.
