the posting on the front page of pistonheads of the Koenig Ferrari 348 made me remember this amazing 1980s conversion...

this one is for sale now. If i had a collection, something similar to this would be in the garage. Just a wonderful piece of over the top 1980s rarity.
shame the wheels on this have been chopped for newish out of character 20inch rims.

I wonder if any of these are in the UK?
Ive seen a couple of Zender SECs and even a couple of SEC convertibles but never a Sbarro.

WTF is up with those wheels? The original car is utterly awful, but at least it's awful with a certain "massively expensive back in the day" panache. The wheels just make it look pathetic.

That looks like it is based on a 116 not a 126. And yet the outer panels are partly from a 126. I am looking at the front scuttle (plainly 116) and the dashboard and climate (again, plainly 116). What are those rear quarter windows off? An early 3-series compact? A Renault 19? Whatever, it is an abortion. And the cheap recent wheels do it no favours.

Why spend so much money with the finished product looking like that?

And obviously so embarrassing to be seen in hence the mileage. Or was it nearly new?
