First start up of the car for a while and after warming up the engine I notice a small leak from the coolant swirlpot. This looks to be the only one available at a reasonable price.

Just wanted to check if there are any alternatives.

Where does it leak? When my engine mount collapsed and the power steering pulley hit the swirl pot I had it welded for a fiver.

If it's started to leak on it's own, chances are it's kaput.
Been there, done that, yes that is a good price for new - grab it smile

Mine sprang a leak 6 weeks ago and cost £88+vat to repair. With hindsight I'd rather have renewed it for the extra £32+vat. The garage told me it was otherwise OK, but then the aluminium expansion tank started to leak and cost £149+vat to replace as it was too far gone to be repaired. I'm now worrying if they were right about repairing the swirl pot.

After seeing Peters "John Eales' Alternator Bracket" I'm very tempted to go for one of those - removing the dummy PAS pulley makes sooooo much more room! The only "downside" as far as I'm concerned is that the bracket that holds my coil packs hangs off that PAS pulley housing so I'd need to relocate those which might not work well with my wiring loom... biggrin
